The electrical system in your RV is easy to use and to switch from the 12 Volt battery system to either your inverter, or to shore power. Depending on what systems you have in place you might have solar panels recharging your 12 Volt or 6 Volt batteries. You may like to go ‘dry camping’ or ‘Boondocking’ and use a generator to provide shore power.
Popular these days are the campgrounds that provide a ‘full hookup’ including power, water and sewer, and even cable TV and internet in some cases. Whatever your preference, these systems must work together. This is done by a series of breakers, fuses and circuit boards, along with auto transfer switches and buss fuses. Like all the other systems in your RV these things require maintenance and occasional repair.
That’s where the detective work begins… what is the problem? Is it in the 12 Volt system, eg. Low batteries, bad connection, solar panel, transfer switch? Or is it one of the 110 shore power supply system components, eg. converter, inverter, 30 amp power cords, electrical panel, fuse or breaker.
